Born and raised in the kainga of Whirinaki Hokianga. I have been inspired and educated by many whanaunga and hapu of the area and hence delved into nga taonga tuku iho out of a desire to learn more about the many aspects of the Maori culture in order to find my position in it.

I have been very fortunate to meet and learn from many talented and inspirational people of all ages, races and walks of life, to all of those people my greatest thanks and respect.

I am currently a student of the wood, stone and pounamu departments continually finding many challenges and rewards here, having an attraction towards functional art as a basis for my work.

I am constantly searching for opportunities to learn and expand my experience and knowledge base so as of now the journey continues......
