Tuatara has new owners!

Hello hello lovely tuatara people.

Well - as you may or may not have heard - we here at Tuatara have BIG, HUGE and ENORMOUS news....... I am very happy to officially announce that Tuatara has new owners!

After being on the market for a while, the gods have conspired, the planets have aligned, and the perfect people have come forth to carry on the MIGHTY Tuatara legacy.

From Monday the 21st November 2011, Tuatara will be under the excellent guidance of Ingi Hayward along with her whanau; husband Rod, and son and daughter Jodi and Phillip.

Ingi hails from Okaihau and is fresh from Fiji, running a similar business there for the last 7 or so years. What's exciting is Tuatara has always been her favourite shop! And...this is her dream job!

And most fantastically, there is no more perfect match in who should carry on the Tuatara story. So welcome Ingi and we truly wish you the best of luck!!

For me, the last 7 1/2 years running Tuatara has been the most incredible experience and I could not be more proud of the outcome.

I think we have become our own suburb, we are almost a household name and are getting closer by the moment to becoming a national treasure. (yes - I am also known to exaggerate.) I live my life knowing I am the luckiest person in the world and in Tuatara I have got to live that reality.

I have to say that mostly what has made my job super-awesome has been meeting and getting to know the most amazing people who walk through my doors - i have been blessed with having connected with many of you.

So thank you to all my stunning customers (who obviously have impeccable taste) I humbly appreciate the support and patronage you have given us over the years. I very much hope that you will continue to have tuatara on top of your shopping agenda in this exciting new chapter and come in and say hi to Ingi when you can.

Thank you also especially to all the artists and designers and crafts people - it's you that makes it all possible. Art is what makes the world goes round. It is our mission to help everyone understand that. I thank you for being so fabulous.
