2009 MAORI ART MARKet

Te Rauparaha Arena and Pataka Museum. Porirua City Wellington
October 9, 10, 11th 2009

Tuatara was privilaged to represent 13 artists at the inaugural MAORI MARKet in 2007 and are especially excited to again be a part of the 2009 event, this year again representing 13 talented Maori Artists who have connections to the North:

It would not be possible for Tuatara to represent these artists without the absolutely fantastic support of our number one back-up team that includes: Te Puni Kokiri, Billy Mulcare from Tautoko  Enterprise Support Ltd, Arts Promotion Trust Northland, NorthTec and Enterprise Northland. Huge aroha and sincerist of thanks for all your support in helping these artists on their path to success and for your contribution to enriching the arts culture of Te Tai Tokerau.

The amount of people who have said to me "I wish I could paint..."
I say to them "Go on then! Less hui-hui, more doey-doey!".
They reply "No I can't... not good enough" or "I don't know what to do".
A wall of judgement falls on their knife edge separating the possibility of beauty (I can) and internal fear (I can't).
